Edasi is a black metal/drone/noise sorcerer by the name of M. Kleis, hailing from Estonia. We've been transfixed by his unheimlich sacrifices of late, calling to mind an unlikely, hyperstitious amalgam of occult sounds with the bewitching black metal desolation of Wold, the outsider avant-oddness of Ghedalia Tazartes, the alien synth-jazz primitivism of Pekka Airiksinen, and Decimus at his most detached. 'Chants Of The Morally Challenged' makes us feel strange in the best way, wending a labyrinthine path from the psilocybic infection of 'Finalized Countdown' to the beguiling ambiguity of Leyland Kirby-like organ riffs and howling vocals in 'Notes on a Sentimental Journey' and the blown-out jazz-meets-black metal and cinematic synth music of 'The Ultimate Derelict'. We urge open-minded and inquisitive ears and minds to check this stuff without delay..."
